There are many places near Gainesville that I am looking forward to visiting in the near future. One of the top places on my bucket list is Weeki Wachee Springs State Park. I’ve heard many positive things that has led me to research more about it. I haven’t had the opportunity to visit yet, but I’m planning to go as soon as I find the time.
Weeki Wachee Springs State Park offers a variety of things to do. They have mermaid shows, you can swim in the spring, go to the beach, learn about Florida wildlife, and there is a water park at Buccaneer Bay that has five waterslides. Visitors can also rent a kayak, canoe, or tube and float down the Weeki Wachee River while enjoying the views and wildlife that the park has to offer. There are certified lifeguards everywhere, so safety is taken into consideration.
This is a great adventure that has many opportunities for fun in the sun. I can’t wait till I get to go! If anyone goes before I get the chance, please make sure to share your adventure in this blog. Weeki Wachee Springs State Park is open 365 days a year from 9 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. Admission is $13 for adults and $8 for kids ages 6-12. Kids five and under are free.
